Vishwamohini Script

The following words and notation are taken from the book "Thumri Sangraha (part 3)" authored by Narhar Shambhurao Bhave. The author was born in 1875. He was the father of the famous Vinobha Bhave. The three-part set of books was published in the 1940's. The books contain collections of thumris acquired from Rahat Ali, whose father had been in the court of Wajid Ali Shah in Lucknow.

As notated in the book, this thumri is a set of 5 couplets or dohas, and is composed in 10 different raags and five different 16-beat taals. Since I am not familiar with the taals mentioned in the book, I am using teentaal for all. The author does say in a footnote that teentaal can be used for all. The composer of the thumri is Rahat Ali (Naurang).

A different raag is used for each line. The raags are, in order:
Sohni (with a komal dha), Hindol, Malkauns, Deshkar, Lalit,
Asavari, Todi, Kedar, Bhoop and Darbari.
