MIDI file to notations converter is a new utility delivered on Vishwamohini.

MIDI file is basically a protocol which contains information about notes, its timing, channel and velocity data. It does not actually contain any music sound data.

There are 16 channels on MIDI, and different instruments are mapped with different channels while creating MIDI file.
There will be one channel which could contain main tune of the song.

In this MIDI to notations converter utility, you will have to play MIDI file and notations from different channels will be converted into Vishwamohini notations format.

There are some options provided to refine the extracted notations 
1. Channel : As said earlier only one channel could contain main tune of the song. So using this option you can filter notations from specific channel to check which channel is having main tune. Also how many notes are available on each channel will be shown when notations are extracted.

2. Taal : just select the Taal in which you want to fit extracted notations.

3. Tempo : This option is little tricky, it helps you to manage notations arrangement with respect to Theka ( timeline ). More the value of tempo, more refine distribution of notations along time ( Theka ).

Even after using refine options, you may have to do good enough adjustment to fit notations in Theka.

Below is one of example where notations of song "Dil kya kare jab kisi ko, kisi se pyar ho jaye" is extracted from MIDI file and adjusted using refine option.

I have taken a example where result is good, if you are lucky then you will also get such result for your MIDI file :-)
